Much more durable than other training wheels May 29, 2009
By M. Keisling These are much more sturdy than most training wheels, which is a very good thing. Like one other reviewer, I had a little bit of trouble installing. I found, that the problem was mostly because the wheel drop-outs on the bicycle frame spread out wide from the wheel when I took the axle nuts off. I solved this by using a clamp to hold the two sides of the drop-out together. The clamp will have to go through the spokes of the rear wheel and squeeze the two sides together. I hope my description makes sense and helps others. The greater strength of this product was well worth the trouble. One other possible solution would be to have a bike shop install a longer axle in the rear wheel, but this would probably cost a little. Good luck and good riding!

For my Granddaughter Sep 03, 2008

I looked everywhere in our area for a set of training wheels for my grandaughters bike. The ones that came with the bike were cheep and they fell apart pretty quickly. I found this set on Amazon and sent for it. It will fit any bike from 14 to 20 inches. Thet are well made and very heavy steel and I think they will out last my grandaughters need for them.

Execellent product Sep 06, 2010
By Dean Bought these training wheels for my granddaughters new girls schwinn (Delight model) 20" bike. Had to make small adjustment to the braces-(spread them open slightly) Also had to have longer rear axle bolt installed (had done at bike shop under $20.00). Just make sure that you have at least 3/4 of an inch of threads of the rear axle bolt showing on each side of the frame or you will need to have a longer axle bolt installed. These training wheels are heavy duty and have had no problem with them. Would recommend them and would buy again if needed. Excellent and heavy duty well made product!

Would not fit axle May 23, 2009
By Michael D. OByrne Great material and craftsmanship, but the thickness of the guide and the strut did nit leave enough room to reattach the axle nut, so the item was not useable for me. This is just a caution. Make sure there is enough axle to accommodate the guide and strut.
