Secure to Presta by flipping lever all the way up, more than usual Nov 04, 2010
By Heather This pump's head has three positions for the lever. All the way down, it allows you to put the head on and off the valve. When the lever is at a right angle (90 degrees) to the head, it is secured around a Schrader valve. Pull it up yet more (about 140 degrees) to secure it around a Presta valve. I almost returned this pump, but the guys at my LBS explained the unique feature.
For heavy users: buy the Blackburn II with a metal base. This one's base is plastic.

Have had this floor pump for a while and it kicks butt! Mar 28, 2009
By J. Silva I've had this floor pump for a few years now. Got it on sale at a local bike shop and it's been very dependable. Easy to pump, has a tire pressure gauge, shrader and presta valve options. Other floor pumps I've tried that are a little cheaper have fallen apart on me. Blackburn seems to make good stuff. I also have used these blackburn lights for my bike Blackburn Mars 3.0 Flasher Rear Bicycle Light and Blackburn Quadrant Bicycle Light as well as Down Low Glow Lighting Kit - Two Tubes-Envy(green) by Rock The Bike

You get what you pay for I guess Feb 04, 2009
By L. McColgan This pump is cheap in both price and quality. It worked well enough for my mountain bike (Schrader valves), but not so well on my road bike (Presta valve). I eventually got it secured around the valve and managed to inflate the tire enough to ride. However, when I went to inflate my girlfriend's road bike tires (also Presta valves), the pump would not secure and ended up simply deflating the tires. I had to remove the tires from the bike and take them to the local bike shop to be inflated (their pump worked fine). In the end, I bought a Presta adapter for the Schrader valve (from the same local bike shop), and I have to use that with the Schrader valve on the pump to inflate the tires. This is unfortunate.

Excellent Pump + Great Value Nov 16, 2008

Although I have only had this pump a short while, and therefore I am not quite sure how durable and reliable it will be, so far I think it is excellent. It does all I hoped for. I have even used it to pump up tires on my car, and it works very well. Seems to be very sturdy and well made and is good value at a price much lower than other models from Blackburn.

Works as expected. Nov 06, 2008
By Brad This bike pump works well. The only negative thing that I can say is that the needle holder in the handle is a bit of a pain to get open.
