By aarontothefuture "this may or may not be heavy"
When I first saw this bag at the store I had to have it. It is very unique. Everyone either tells me "That's a cool bag!" or "Man that's a big bag" It looks like a cross between duct tape and carbon fiber which is cool. I also love the square-ish design. It just doesn't look like anybody else's backpack which helps you stand out.

But with such great style comes low functionality in my honest opinion. First, it doesn't hold that square-ish form so the bag doesn't ever look as good as the product pic. If only it had foam form padding to keep the shape. Also, it has a "flap top" so you can't easily put things in or take things out like a traditional zipper backpack. There are good organizer pockets for pens, electronics, and etc. but I felt like with such a bigger sized bag, there should have been more pockets besides the 1 main compartment and the smaller "organizer" parts.

I basically bought this more for show than for function. I might switch back to my smaller and more functional Case Logic bag....

5Goodbye Chrome, Hello DaKine  Feb 08, 2011
By Honestly Now. . .
I used to have a Chrome citizen, and after someone stole it off of me, I started looking for another pack. My Chrome bag was old enough to be made in the US, but I flat out did not want to support greed this round - sorry, same high price for a used-to-be made in the US but now made-in-China bag is LAME! I looked at the Timbuk2 Mavericks line, Banjo Brothers line, Crumpler, Manhattan portage, Baileyworks and RE Load bags, and I'm really glad I went on the cheap.

This bag has folds on the side to keep the rain out, so although you can't go scuba diving in it, this vinyl bag is just as waterproof as my Chrome bag was. I'm an instructor at a community college in the wettest city in the US (Hilo, HI), and I bike to work every day with this bag. I have had no problems. I am 5'5" female, and although this bag is humongous, it's not uncomfortable or falling off of me. My boyfriend who is 6' and MUCH wider in the shoulders tried it on and it works on him, too without digging in his clavicle (?is that the name of that bone?) which is a problem for him with backpacks sometimes. The straps bow out enough that they're not a problem for him, and fit to the side of boobs so they're not a problem for me. There's a spot for my cell phone, some pens, my ID etc, so I'm not worried about crushing things or spending 10 mins digging in the bottom of the bag to find stuff - a small but constant ordeal with the Chrome bag. The U-lock pocket is also way convenient.

I looked around for reviews on this product for EVER, and only found one from a guy who admittedly got the bag for free from the company. Sometimes when I go with the cheaper option, I get burned, but this is a reliable bag that doesn't associate me with the Chrome clique, and thereby differentiate me from the RE Load clique, which isn't part of the Timbuk2 clique. . . whatever. . . it's a good bag and I'm glad I bought it.
