Good Pack for Casual User Apr 08, 2010 I purchased this pack to use on a trip to San Francisco. When shopping I was looking for a product that would offer me enough room to carry everything, without breaking the bank. I selected the Agave after comparing several products from JanSport, Swiss Gear, etc. I didn't want to spend too much on something that I didn't use regularly, but I needed the capacity to hold several changes of clothes (t-shirts, jeans, etc), a laptop, and my travel sized goods, etc.
I was pleasantly surprised when the Agave arrived to my home, it has a deceptively large capacity! I actually had room for everything and more. The bag itself is very well made, with a good solid feel to it. The material is sturdy and the bag holds its shape when taken off. Zippers, clips, and adjustment rings all operate fairly smoothly and feel to be high quality.
The main compartment is large, but unstructured. There is a laptop sleeve, but it feels to be more of an afterthought than than an original design point. The sleeve is made of thin fabric with a elastic band at the top - it does hold the laptop in place but offers very little protection against other items in the main compartment. This wasn't a problem for me, but for some it may become an issue. Other than the laptop sleeve, the main compartment offers no other structure, no sleeves for documents, electronics, books or folders. This is not a business-class backpack so if you are looking for those features, look at another product.
Other compartments offer a series of pockets, both fabric and mesh, and serves as a great place to store travel goods, chargers, etc.
My only real complaint with the bag was the cushioning on the straps and back. It's a solid foam, rather than a mesh type, and does not breathe well, leading to sweaty shoulders and back after extended wear. If you're looking for extended use in hot or humid conditions, you might look to a different product.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this pack and as a casual user, feel it suits my needs. Its great for weekend trips and general purpose on the go. Now that I have it, I find myself using it more often then I had expected.

Perfect gift for my husband Feb 07, 2010 I purchased this backpack as a Christmas gift for my husband as his other Jansport bag is 10+ years old and finally starting to show some wear and tear. My husband uses his bag daily, so comfort and practicality are very important. The part of this bag that he loves the most is the fact that our laptop (a Dell Inspiron) fits perfectly.
