High Sierra Switch Blade is Very Good if Your Needs are Limited Jul 18, 2010
By Bryan Carey
"Bryan Carey"
The High Sierra Switch Blade Sport Duffel is a medium- size duffel bag and it makes a good choice for those with average or limited needs. The bag is constructed from thick nylon with a U- shaped, zippered opening for the main compartment, a CD player pocket and headphone port, a mesh compartment on the outside end for storing wet items, etc. A velcro- wrap handle and a detachable shoulder strap with non- slip pad.
I own several different duffel bags and I tend to use them either for carrying heavy, bulky books or for occasional travel. Most any duffel bag will do the trick when you travel because clothing is light, but when you use your duffel bag for books, you need a duffel bag that is durable. High Sierra Switch Blade Sport Duffel is strong enough to hold multiple books without any problem. I have been using mine for this purpose for many months and it shows no signs of wear.
This duffel bag offers many compartments, but I have noticed one fact that could make this bag less useful for some. The problem is the mesh pocket- it isn't really large enough for its intended purpose. The mesh and zippered opening is on the outside of the bag, but most oif the pocket actually extends to the inside of the bag. The problem is that, depending on the size of the item you place here, it will extend far inside and take up much of the interior space. This greatly limits the interior space.
Another possible concern with the High Sierra Switch Blade Sport Duffel is its lack of interior space. Even if you don't use the mesh pocket, the inside of the bag isn't that big. I am able to fit my large books inside, but barely. If even one more book was added, it would not fit- I would be forced to place it in one of the outside pockets. This is why you need to carefully consider your own need for space before you purchase this duffel bag.
Duffel bags are handy and this particulr bag from High Sierra is a pretty good bag for most needs/uses. It could be too small for some purposes, but for those who need only a moderate amount of storage space, the High Sierra Switch Blade Sport Duffel is a very good duffel bag option.

Duffel bag Jan 12, 2007

Not as good as it looked on the internet. No small pockets to hold items. Pretty basic bag, nothing special. Suits my needs for the most part I guess, but just not a top rate bag. I rate it a B ... was hoping for an A.

Nice bag for the gym, I just wish Feb 12, 2008
By Scott R. Hirschman It was bigger, I like the bag, it has more space in it then my 15 yr old back pack that I was using, I just wish it was a little bit bigger. My only gripe with the bag is the wet storage compartment, which you use to store sneakers, flip flops, a wet towel, ect. When using that compartment the items in that compartment are stored in the main compartment of the bag as a result you loose 75% of the storage space of the bag. I think if the bag was a little bit longer and taller it wouldnt have such an impact but as it is I loose a lot of space.

Great 'LITTLE" Bag Jun 26, 2010
By J. Walton I wanted a good bag to take with me to they gym but I didn't want a monster of a bag. This bag was perfict, its not a big bag by any means but it holds my shoes, weight belt, raps and still has more than enough room. I could put in a towl, change of cloths or anything else I need to. Just what I wanted.

Great Duffel Bag Dec 04, 2011
By marie chen I have been searching for a duffel bag for gym. This one is exactly what I needed. One side compartment for the sneakers and the other side for my hair dryer, ID card and mis. Also, it's more durable than the other brands I saw in the retail store.
