Great pack for a good price. Sep 04, 2007
By M. Doherty I bought this pack as a day pack that will occasionally be used as a weekender. I have taken it out hiking twice so far, and it feels real comfortable. It has a ton of internal space and seems larger than other 40l bags I was looking at. I would definitely recommend this bag to any hiker on a budget. I work at an outdoor store, and I can say this bag is comparable in quality to most mountain hardware and north face packs.

Great stable bag, but not a lot of pockets Aug 28, 2008
By Bethany S. Mandel I used this for a month backpacking across Central America. It was a great pack, and it carried my life for a month. It didn't show any signs of wear or tear by the end of the adventure, and I was not exactly gentle with it. It was a great size and fit for me (I'm 5'1"), and held everything I needed for the month traveling. My only qualm with this pack was that there's only one pocket on the inside, and I had to buy pouches (rick steves traveling cubes) to divide my stuff more, so it wasn't all in one pile in my bag. All in all, I'll probably use this bag on many other adventures.
after a few alterations it is a pretty good bag Apr 20, 2011
By rochesterian I needed a bag I could use for a week and bring on a plane. This one worked for both those purposes. My only complaint is that there are a zillion extra straps, clips and belts on this bag. I cut off everything I didn't need and it works great. Unless you plan on scaling Everest you probably don't need a place to attach an ice pick.

NOT universal fit Jul 13, 2008
By J. M. Fry The product description is as follows: "Feature loaded, value priced internal frame pack. Easy access top loader. Universal fit." When purchased the bag has a tag that says the torso strap (around your chest) is universal fit, while the actual bag fits people with torso of 15"-17" in length. It is a medium-sized bag and I'm 6'1" and have a 19" torso, so it doesn't fit and by my definition of "universal fit" is false advertisement.
The bag seems nearly useless. It's top loading and has a divider in the main compartment which seems useless except to separate your laptop from your other stuff, if you're using it as such. The only other compartment is inside the top flap that closes the main compartment, and is therefore small. There is one mesh pocket on each side that can hold a 1-liter bottle and it has a detachable "media" pouch on the left shoulder strap that has a hole in it to run headphones through. It also contains a hidden pouch at the bottom of the bag that houses the rain cover. That is all there is to the bag.
If you're using it for hiking you could find something MUCH better with more dividers, more pockets, and maybe even a place to strap a tent and/or sleeping bag to. If you're using it for around-the-town, then the deep, top-loading compartment is not even close to ideal, and the lack of extra pockets hurts this bag greatly.
If you're trying to stay in a budget and that budget is $50 or less, then this may be your bag (but look long and hard for something better, first), but otherwise I'd get something else.
